In the Bible, we can see numerous evidences that God is pleased with faith, and He answers to our prayers according to our faith. The centurion who came before Jesus for his sick servant confessed his faith, and his servant got healed at that very moment(Matthew 8:13). The woman who came before Jesus to for her demon-possessed daughter also confessed her faith to the end, and her daughter got healed(Matthew 15:28).
Likewise, God who is always the same and never changing answers to those who show their faith, and he answers through men of God. Not everybody who believes in Jesus Christ can testify the living God, but only those who have received God’s power can.
Power is authoritative ability. As Psalms 62:11 says that the power belongs to God, a man with power of God shows signs and wonders, and he can do works of wondrous power and miraculous things according to the level of power. As Peter and Paul the Apostles received this power from God, they could preach about the living God and thus bring many people to the way of salvation.
1. Anyone who has faith in me ... He will do even greater things than these.
It is not very easy for believers to have true faith these days because of sins, evil things spread widely and developed knowledge. John 4:48 says, "Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe." So God pours out the Holy Spirit in the last days as He promises in Joel 2:28 so that people can meet the living God through the works of the Holy One.
John 14:12 also says, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." God blesses those who meet His qualifications to do what Jesus did and even greater things than them.
What does "anyone who has faith in Jesus" mean? Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see(Hebrew 11:1). Anyone who believes Jesus follows him, becomes holy and has true faith. He prays for the kingdom and the righteousness of God first and gets answers to everything he prays for(1John 3:21-22). Everything becomes possible for him with faith(Mark 9:23).
That’s why Jesus said before he went up to heaven, "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." After He went up to heaven, He gave God’s power not only to the Apostles like Peter and Paul, but also even to Deacons like Phillip and Stephen to perform miraculous signs and wonders.
Anyone, who is qualified as a man of God and receives the power can do not only the works of Jesus but also greater things than his work. But it does not mean that he has greater power than Jesus, but he just can do greater things.
We can understand this word if we look into highly developed mass communication tools. If anyone preaches powerful words, performs miraculous signs and wonders and even walks on the water like Jesus, it will be reported to the whole world immediately through various media, and many people will come to know about it simultaneously. Therefore it will be much more effective in bringing people to the way of salvation than the days of Jesus.
Today, we have strong germs and incurable diseases like AIDS that we never had before. So if these diseases are cured through the power of God, this is something greater than what Jesus did. But it does not mean that one heals some diseases that Jesus couldn’t.. Of course, Jesus could have healed them if these diseases were there at that time.
In Manmin Joong-ang Church, many members are experiencing the powerful works of God through the handkerchief on which I prayed, and through the prayer for the sick through the ARS, as well as Mu-an sweet water.(*The seawater was changed into drinkable water through the pryer of Rev. Lee in 2000) We can call this kind of wondrous and remarkable things "great things".
2. Power of God appears in Manmin Joong-ang Church
Many remarkable and wondrous works of God are in the Bible. Paul received the power of God and did extraordinary miracles. Acts 19:11-12 says, "God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them."
Acts 5:15-16 says, "As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed." It proves that only by falling of the shadow of Peter who received the power of God, sick people were healed and demons were driven out.
Likewise, divine healing is taking place countlessly in Manmin Joong-ang Church. As the church has grown so much, I cannot lay my hand on every single member to pray for them. Therefore many members are experiencing the living God with faith through the handkerchief on which I prayed and the prayer for the sick through the telephone or the Audio Response System ARS.
God’s power is shown in different levels according to the one who has received the power from God; how much God is pleased with him and how much he is obedient to God. I would like to explain the power of God in four levels to help you understand it easily.
The first level of power works through the red light. It is the fire of the Holy Spirit that burns germs or viruses that cause diseases. It can heal all the diseases including incurable diseases such as leukemia, cancer and AIDS, etc.
The second level of power works through the blue light. This light is like a laser beam(Malachi 4:2). In this level, the power of darkness is driven away, dead men come to life again. Mainly, it drives the darkness away from those who are demon-possessed, nervous, or those who have mental diseases like autism and neurosis. It can also drive away the power of darkness in family and workplace. It can bring a dead man back to life again, or it can take the life away from somebody according to the will of God.
The third level of power works through the white or transparent light. Many kinds of remarkable signs and works of creation appear. Signs are things like the blind come to see, the mute come to speak, the deaf come to hear, the paralytic come to walk, short legs become normal, and infantile paralysis and cerebral palsy get cured. Namely, as they are not caused by demon-possession, the paralytic body or congenital deformity and degenerated parts get normal. These things are the works of creation that renew the parts which were imperfect and degenerated.
The fourth level of power works through the golden light. A man with power of this level can reign and control over all creation, and his words become reality. Life and death, fortune and misfortune happen as he speaks. He can also control the weather and nature. For example, He can make wind calm down and make rain stop, and he can make the cloud cover the sun. The inanimate thing also is obedient to him. When he commands, a briquet gas, fever, heat, and any kind of poison disappear.
Also, not only many diseases get cured and power of darkness is driven away beyond space-time, but also Signs appear and all creation obey. In this level, all works of all levels appear.
Dear brothers and sisters,
I will pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you believe the words of God and put them into practice with faith so that you can do things that Jesus did and even greater things than them. Then you will accomplish God’s kingdom greatly and thus glorify Him. |
