People are very interested in getting whatever they can for free. However, Abraham was different. One day when Sarah, his wife died, he wanted to bury her body in the cave of Machpelah. The land owner also wanted to give him the land for free, but Abraham paid the full price 'in the hearing of the people of the land' as written in Genesis 23. He thought about the possible future conflicts between his descendants and the landowner's. As the saying goes, "There is nothing more expensive than what is gained for nothing", remember the wisdom of Abraham all the time.
