The 2010 Manmin Summer Retreat ended as a great success in the midst of pouring showers of God's grace. All the days of the retreat were full of the assurance of the holiness gospel and the hope for New Jerusalem. Through the prayer of Dr. Jaerock Lee, the spiritual spaces were opened and many wonders and signs were manifested by the power of God. The believers in attendance came to possess greater faith and engraved the love of God on their hearts. This summer retreat was featured with the attendance of many people from abroad. They attended to experience the power of God that would be displayed in the spiritual space. Let's look into the 2010 Manmin Summer Retreat that abounded in works of the Holy Spirit, and give glory and thanks to God who was with us.



Cool Weather Regardless of Other Areas' Scorching Heat / The Love of God Displayed through Wonders

This summer Korea is experiencing abnormal climate. A few old people died of wrenching heat. Many people in Korea are not able to sleep well because of hot tropical nights and suffer from scorching daytime heat. Some people work with ice packs around their necks, and some others leave their homes and put up a tent along the river and go from there to their offices.
The first week of August is the peak season for summer vacation in Korea. But this year scorching heat has blanketed Korea. To our amazement, the weather at the place of the summer retreat was totally different from that in other areas. There was deadly heat or heavy rains in other areas, but the place of the summer retreat had the optimal temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. The coordinators of the summer retreat ordered corn-on-the-cob from outside the area as a snack, but the corn was delayed more than one hour later because of a heavy rain shower. This fact demonstrated that we had no rain at all in the immediate area of the summer retreat.
God protected the area of the summer retreat in the same way that He had protected Israelites who dwelled in the land of Goshen from the ten plagues. While the athletic events were being held, clouds blocked the heat from the scorching sunlight and a cool breeze blew in the area. During the 'Looking up to the Sky' time, people were so happy to see various wonders performed by God including shooting stars, fast-moving stars and dancing stars.



The Appearance of Swarms of Dragonflies / God's Love Demonstrated in Many Signs

The most interesting occurrence at the summer retreat was experiencing swarms of dragonflies. As in the past, a myriad of dragonflies appeared and sat on the fingers, hands, heads, and shoulders of a vast majority of the people. A dragonfly has a pair of compound eyes each of which consists of roughly 28,000 ommatidia. Without turning its head, a dragonfly can see front, rear, left, and right side at the same time. Unlike most, the dragonflies that appeared at the place of the summer retreat were not afraid of people, and came and sat on them without fear.
Swarms of dragonflies came down from around the sun. Some dragonflies flittered down from the sky as though they were dancing, while some others suddenly seemed to appear out of nowhere and then just disappeared. They appeared and disappeared through the spiritual space that God opened. Dragonflies eat such harmful insects as mosquitoes. For this reason, there was no mosquitoes or moths at all at the summer retreat place and around the immediate area.



No Accidents and No Illness at the Summer Retreat / The Love of God Who Protected All Brothers and Sisters

Generally speaking, when a summer retreat is held in Korea, people suffer from diarrhea, stomach-ache or skin irritations. There are also various accidents that happen including drowning. The leaders of the summer retreats have to carry medicines for emergencies and take care of the members. But the things are completely different at the summer retreat of Manmin Central Church. More than one hundred buses moved people, and several thousand people ranging from young children to the elderly attended. But there were no accidents at all during the summer retreat because God protected everything and everyone completely. For the last 28 years Manmin Central Church has held the summer retreat every year, and the believers attending the summer retreat improved their faith by experiencing God's protection from various accidents and illnesses and felt His love by receiving answers and blessings from God.



A Worldwide Festival Full of the Hope for Heaven / The Love of God Who Was with Manmin

Not only members of Manmin Central Church but also many members from all domestic branch churches including Daejeon, Kwangju, Masan, and Pusan attended this summer retreat. And this year hundreds of people from 18 nations including USA, UK, Japan, Israel, and Bolivia attended, too. Deaconess Eunja Sung said, "I felt strong love of God, who is even managing the weather. My faith has grown up."
This summer retreat was considered as a worldwide festival drenched with the love of God who comforted the hearts of numerous people, blessed them with answers, and was with them. This 2010 Manmin Summer Retreat was featured on a few daily newspapers—The Sudokwon Daily, The Daehan Today's News, and The Joong-ang Mail Newspaper, and weekly magazines including The Sisa News, and monthly magazines including The Pictorial Journal of Korea and The Newsmaker. One of the journalists and reporters who attended this retreat said, "Dragonflies fly away from men, but it was so amazing to see dragonflies coming down from the sky and sitting on the people in a friendly manner."
